UPDATE: On second use (two days after receiving the toaster) I closed it over sandwiches with two thin slices of bread, cheese and thin slices of tomato and it broke I wish , I know what it means to make small sandwiches. I had one growing up and you could use regular bread. Even after cutting off the crust (which I'd rather not do), the loaf was too big for this machine. burned down. My sandwich was in seconds when it happened. It also gave off a chemical burnt smell when first used. Hope this doesn't go on.
