I'm a reviewer, therefore I'm a reviewer. First thing I want to get across is that I haven't seen any additional mention of plastic smell from other reviewers. I noticed a few spots, including those printed on the product, that are not for human consumption - and initially there was no smell, but as soon as I filled it with warm water (AFTER fully rinsing and cleaning before first use ), it has definitely dissipated a penetrating rubber smell that seeped into the fibers of my clothes. I bought this to wash my underwear and it's great for that EXCEPT for the plastic smell that emanates from the product. I am not sure if I will continue to use this. I also wanted to point out that it was VERY difficult to pull out fully at first, so I don't plan on leaving it folded unless absolutely necessary.
