Review on πŸ”Œ Cable Matters HDMI to Mini HDMI Adapter: Enhanced Connectivity for High-Definition Devices by John Roby

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great adapter that works well with my Intel Ultrabook

My wife wanted to use a large monitor on her desk instead of looking at the Untrabook's smaller 14 inch screen while she works on assignments. To do this, we had to adapt the DVI cable from the monitor to the Intel ultrabook's mini-HDMI. Using the DVI to HDMI cable worked well when connecting to the monitor, then using this adapter I reduced the size of the HDMI port from the mini HDMI size found on the ultrabook. This adapter works well and now my wife can use a full size monitor and has less eyestrain during the day. To be clear, of all the options that involve cables etc, only we bought a mini adapter that goes from full hdmi to mini hdmi as we already had hdmi cables. There are other ways to transfer video from ultrabook to monitor (USB adapter), but this simple and clean solution works well for us. You need to make sure the mini-adapter is fully inserted into the ultrabook, then with all the pressure of the longer, heavier cable, set the ultrabook aside and don't bang it. That's how he stays connected. 5 stars for a high quality, low cost adapter that has worked well for us for a few months.
