Review on ๐Ÿน Stylish Libbey Set: Tiki Amber Stem Coupe Cocktail Glasses (4-pc, 8.5 oz) by Sheila King

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Cheap, strong and huge.

This is a pale copy of Morgantown Glass' mid-century Tiki coupes made for Trader Vic (the glasses they're inspired by). They're not nearly as elegant, subtle, or sophisticated. They are surprisingly big. They outshine every other coupe I own. They hold a full 8 oz. Volume of liquid that is too much for most properly mixed cocktails. They're strong and probably hard to break, but their thickness and size make them look cheap and vulgar. They look more like cactus-stick margaritas found in a truly run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurant than an elegant cocktail coupe. The best use I've found for them so far is as mixed wet ice drinks or ice tray drinks, similar to Mai Kai's special reserve daiquiri. The first photo compares it to an old Libbey Georgian Champagne Coupe. The second shows it in his hand.
