These are dog bags. They are said to be biodegradable and that was my main reason for buying them as it is important to me personally. Of course if exposed to the sun they will break down after a while so I believe they are biodegradable as advertised. I've tried both lavender and unscented varieties. Both are great and the lavender scent is actually quite mild. I've never had a problem with ripping or ripping unless it's pulling on the concrete (it happens sometimes). So these bags are pretty durable. Good product.
