Review on Big Buddy Portable Heater Carry Case 18B by Lori Aguirre

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Revan came together.

If you read the reviews you will notice that in previous years the smaller 'Mr. Heater Little Buddy' was taken with the stock for more 'Mr. Heater Big Buddy', although the model number is significantly different. Some customers complained that the bag was too big, while others complained that it wasn't big enough. But these reviews were mostly for 2018-2019, and newer Reviews didn't mention the wrong size, as Revain sold and shipped me I wasn't concerned that they wouldn't take responsibility if they sent me the wrong size, I just prefer not to take the time (time and effort) gain weight, return it for the correct size. I also bought Big Buddy which was in reserve and finally arrived so I bought this bag shortly after. Revain did not disappoint. The bag was as advertised and true to size. Really perfect fit. This bag also has a small zipped compartment on the front perfect for storing the larger propane hose adapter I bought to be able to connect this heater to a standard 20lb propane tank instead of using 1lb canisters. There was also plenty of room to store the fan adapter I bought. The material is very durable and abrasion resistant but I saw where they cut corners so I took a star off the rating. The zippers on the front and back of the bag are simple, not double, and they only offer a crossed strap. The belt hook is also fixed and does not rotate freely. So if the strap tips over, you'll have to manually unwind it to keep it snug against your shoulder. Mesh bags for 1 lb propane canisters have no strap at the top just an elastic rib which will most likely wear out over time rendering the bag unusable. Finally, older models of this bag had two small straps sewn onto the front and back of the bag to allow it to be carried by hand, which many preferred as this bag could get a bit heavy when fully loaded with accessories. In general this is a good bag. It's well thought out with an extra front pocket and side canister pockets but I think they didn't do a great job with the small details. Those angled cuts make the $35 bag expensive. IMHO, that probably costs 30% less. If you have the fan version of the Big Buddy I do not recommend buying the OEM power supply, it has pretty bad customer reviews and I would believe them. I've bought cheap adapters in the past and this OEM adapter seems to fit the bill. It's an outdated design and all they've done over the years has been to lower the manufacturing cost. Mister Heather might be on a long-term contract, but what they really need is to update the design and use better materials. There are better third party adapters and they are cheaper, just make sure that they meet the required specifications (6 V at 0.8 A). I bought one from PWR+ and it works like a charm (you can also check my review). It has pretty bad customer reviews and I would trust them.
