I bought a used 2015 Tesla Model S and found the manufacturer's air filter was quite dirty. I did a quick search for air filters and found that K&N makes a cabin air filter. I have used K&N for stock air filters on both of my Nissans in the past and have been impressed with the performance and washability. So I ordered a filter based on previous experience. When I received the package, I was surprised that the filter was heavier than the standard filter. Because the design of the outer rim is made of a dense, flexible plastic that does not lose its shape. The filter is also electrostatically charged to trap various contaminants. As for the durability of the filter, I'll be updating it over time to see how well it holds up.
