I purchased this item to use with my Oculus Rift. The crack said it was connected but I had audio with no video. No big deal, I hooked up my Rift to HDMI and connected my Onkyo TX-NR636 to it via a new working HDMI 2.0 cable. The TV came up straight away, said it was connected in 2160P (4k), everything seems to be working, and then I tried to start the movie. silent. Oops, I forgot to set it up. Open the sound control, click on "Settings". Only one option. Stereo. Hit test, "failed test". hit properties. Maximum number of channels = 2 (shown in Figure 1). Connected my old displayport with a passive HDMI 1.4 cable (1080P at 60Hz). The TV arrived in 1080P which was shown above. Once again I checked the characteristics of the sound. Maximum 8 channels. (Figure 2) I think I have a bad block. I will try to get a refund. With my HDMI 2.0 cable this is no problem. Now I'm using it again to get 4k 60hz and 8 channel audio which works great with it.
