Review on πŸ’¨ High-Speed Cat 7 Ethernet Cable – 3 Ft Length for Efficient Connectivity by Joe Kokenge

Revainrating 5 out of 5

High-quality Ethernet cable suitable for outdoor use.

For the price I expected a cable that barely meets the minimum requirements. I was pleasantly surprised to find the good quality in every detail. There is a low resistance continuity between the shielded RJ-45 connector at both ends, indicating that the cable shield is properly connected. I am using this cable (after cutting it in half and plugging in the other connector) to feed an audio signal into the mic input of a ham radio station and shielding is important in this application as strong RF signals are present. Each of the 4 pairs is wrapped in what appears to be solid aluminum foil. This bundle is then wrapped in a metalized plastic film (Mylar). There is a stranded copper ground wire (making it easy to solder the shield ground to the connector) and then another metal braid over it. The outer shell is made of weather-resistant polyethylene (UV and waterproof). The cable is marked "SSTP CAT.7 26AWG/4PAIRS TESTED ACCORDING TO TIA/EIA 568B.2" (no manufacturer or product name). A disadvantage of this cable is that it is much stiffer (larger bend radius) and larger diameter (meaning fewer of these cables will fit in cable trays or conduit) compared to UTP Cat 5 cables. However, this is to be expected and applies to other cables of similar quality.
