Review on 🔨 PC-Products PC-Woody Wood Repair Epoxy Paste, 12 oz Two-Part Kit, and PC-Petrifier Wood Hardener, 16 oz by Doug Twilights

Our 100 year old house had some problems and now that we're at working in our first nursery, it's time to address some of them. The door, which was attached to the frame with the help of NAILS and 2 of the 3 screw holes, was completely torn off and the window sill was badly damaged by water. We removed the hinges from the frame, poured hardener over all of the exposed wood, and after about 48 hours poured as much epoxy as we could into the ruined frame. Let me pause to say how impressive Woodhardener is; The wood we worked with went from malleable with our fingers to fully solid in 24 hours. A tip for mixing and applying epoxy is to use two putty scrapers so you can scrape it from one to the other. Filling the door frame was pretty easy, but the windowsill is a different story. Due to years of neglect, the wood on parts of the windowsill had rotted and we used epoxy to recreate the missing wood. It was a bit tricky because epoxy is sooooo sticky it was impossible to create a smooth surface. Eventually I gave up the notion that grinding would help hide my failures. I was right about something - looping helped a little, but not as much as I was hoping. Luckily a white coat of paint helped a lot and ultimately the blinds and curtains help the most as they close my project most of the time. We also used this product to repair the door frame on our basement stairs. When I moved in, the door was held in place by a screw. I spent years in this house pulling the door completely out of the door frame and attaching it to our Chinese cabinet. We decided we really couldn't do any worse so we started with that and I'm proud to say the screws are now secure on both the door and the frame. TLDR: Is this product a permanent solution for our use? May be. Our doors seem very strong at this point, which is a huge improvement that hasn't cost us and/or our relationship a fortune. I recommend this product, but I also recommend a little patience and a little more effort than just hardening, mixing, and filling.
