The best over-the-counter acne and hyperpigmentation retinoid serum! I love it. Mild formula, no irritation. Thanks to the ceramides present in the formula, the face does not dry out and does not shrink. If you have oily skin, you can even go without a moisturizer (although not recommended). No pore-clogging ingredients. And it really makes a big difference in reducing redness and hyperpigmentation after breakouts. I have used this along with mandelic acid serum (and diet) to get rid of adult acne. It worked very well. Then I switched to another serum and gave it a try. Another serum contained azalinic acid, niacinamide and a gran-active retinoid. It must have been so great. But it's not as good as this serum. My skin became very dry and I found that there were still some small blockages on my skin, I think this is due to the cetearyl alcohol in this serum. In theory, this shouldn't make much of a difference, but it has a comedogenic rating of two, and if you're prone to acne, it might not be a risk you want to take. Most other serums contain similar ingredients that can potentially clog pores. Not this one! And while the ingredients in the other serum should have helped, this serum didn't help redness, hyperpigmentation, or acne as much. I ordered this and started using it again and literally after the FIRST night of using it again I woke up to notice a significant reduction in the red acne marks on my face. I was shocked and looked at some of the ingredients and apparently honeysuckle extract is said to reduce hyperpigmentation, be anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial. In addition, eucalyptus oil can increase collagen production. Also, gluconolactone is a gentle hydroxy acid. So this formula is really powerful and I have found that the ingredients are actually much more effective than the ingredients in other serums at not clogging my pores and keeping me on my breakout cycle. This is a serum that continually improves my face when I wake up in the morning after using it. I've noticed that my skin looks firmer in the morning (I'm 36 and just starting to get a little loose skin), clearer and more even. And the ingredients are pure and natural. I will not switch to any other serum. This one is perfect and I'm glad they lowered the price on it too! Worth every penny.
