I bought this because my neck hurt from sitting at the table looking directly at the monitor. Now I can slide it out and recline in my chair, lean back in my chair. Tilt it down slightly or sit comfortably with the screen at eye level. My neck pain is completely gone. Also because the arms are all metal. pulls back when I need more space. I have VR and pushing it aside to avoid mishaps is as easy as putting it back in place.I actually have two, one on a stand by my bed for a smaller Asus monitor.which I watch youtube videos with in bed I can pull it across the bed to watch while lying or lying down. The other is on my desk with a 32" LG that weighs just over the max weight. It weighs about 22 pounds & 100 pounds and holds it well. You need to increase the tension with the Allen key on the large monitor arm. Thing is, you don't feel much tension when tightening it, so it may seem like you're not tightening it, but the shoulder resists the downward pressure more. However, it gets the job done and is holding up well after a few months of use. I can move it up and down at will, but the way I use it I left the one on the table at maximum height and the one by the bed I move up and down to get a better look at it. I didn't use clamps, instead I drilled a hole in the surface of my table and used the mounting sleeve. It's very durable and won't slip. Very happy with it after a few months of use.
