Update: Took a year for the stitching to unravel and the magnet to pop out. I use it daily and down the side of my thigh, not the front and back. I also have an XL, which I also use every day. I clip them to the back of my pants and they are still in excellent condition. I personally use this in conjunction with my minimalist wallet as my wallet tends to only hold cash and cards well. Great for when I can get extra loose change (from cash transactions) and a good place to put a spare car/house key (in case I lock myself out of the car/house). Other times I use it when I need to do a quick grocery shop and/or go to a fast food restaurant in the middle of the night, still in my sweatpants, and don't want anything slipping out of my pocket (put credit card, cash and Driving license in a running buddy) when boarding and alighting. Fits very well. No belt required. Sits very well on the side of the thigh and feels more like an extension of the pants than an add-on. It's held in place by powerful magnets and doesn't move or bounce at all. Most of the time you don't even realize it's there unless you make a conscious effort. The outer material is made from the same material as the Airflow back lining in most high quality backpacks and is highly breathable. to install a flip phone (if you still have one). Regarding a 5 inch phone; It fits regular or slim bodies, but please note that you cannot close the velcro flap and it may be snug. If you're using a modern smartphone, I would go for the regular size or the XL size for side-walking. Just note that with them you need to belay your running partner at the front of your waist and not at the side, which can look a bit awkward in public unless you run or are physically active. Overall very happy with this product and have used it daily. I wish they would change the company logo and maybe add an extra inner pocket/divider on the mini running buddy.
