Does what it is supposed to. However, there doesn't seem to be a way to remove the blender blade for cleaning. He appears to be left-handed because the button to raise and lower the head isn't where I expected it to be. it's just me However, I use it often and find that it makes beautiful cocktails. As for "thickness", I believe that thicker shakes simply contain more ice cream. If you put enough ice in a mug, you get a nice thick cocktail. One thing. It would be nice to have a second bowl to clean out the blender when you're done.
