I bought this for everyday use as my Tundra doesn't have a proper place for my phone especially when using Waze or other navigation apps. This thing isn't small, it's cluttered and takes up a lot of space in your console. With that said, I have no doubt that I could throw this thing out the window at 50 mph, go back and pick it up and it wouldn't even get scratched. If you're a serious hiker or off-roader, this is probably more your style. For the everyday passenger it was too much for me. It holds the phone very securely and once you position it it works well. This is a bit of a problem with the stump, however, as it tips over every time you load or unload your phone, requiring you to constantly move it around. Great idea, little more than I need.
