My bike had a RAM mount. I bought it to work as an Uber driver. He leaves my phone within reach. That keeps it out of my line of sight. It's a deceptively heavy base. An excellent ball/jack system that has proven its worth. And the X-Grip is my personal favorite. My phone only moves when I move it. No shaking. No vibration. No failure. This is perfect for MY use. Your results may vary. But I doubt.

I would like to give this one more stars but it's not perfect on the Mini Countryman. The bracket moves in the cup holder. If I turn quickly, the mount falls out of the cup holder. It holds the LG V20 properly and allows access to the fingerprint reader on the back. This part works amazing.

I had high hopes for this one. The cup holder itself is great, but the base that fits the cup holder is terrible. The valves that hold it in place loosen up after a few days, and then you have to change direction. These are small rubber stoppers. I can just throw it away and find a way to install the holder like Lifestyle Overland did. The seller was fantastic and got my item to me quicker than stated. RAM Mounts' product falls short of expectations and is largely a failure.

I bought this for everyday use as my Tundra doesn't have a proper place for my phone especially when using Waze or other navigation apps. This thing isn't small, it's cluttered and takes up a lot of space in your console. With that said, I have no doubt that I could throw this thing out the window at 50 mph, go back and pick it up and it wouldn't even get scratched. If you're a serious hiker or off-roader, this is probably more your style. For the everyday passenger it was too much for me. It…
