I recently bought this wireless controller for my PC and was hoping it would work with my Atari too. Great news! It works. So let's start with the good things: the visuals and packaging are superb. It comes with a nice case that contains the controller, 2 keys, USB cable and manual. It works with a variety of systems including the Atari 2600 and 7800 (with just one button). I have yet to test on my Atari computer and the original Genesis, but they should work fine on them too. Now for some not-so-great things: The controller is very light, which seems a bit strange. I've never owned this particular Genesis wired controller model, so I can't really compare it. In fact, the only Genesis controller I own is a wired 6-button Hyperkin, which is larger and feels heavier. You could put some weight in it. I'm just saying. But the worst thing about this controller has to do with pairing. This should be automatic and often isn't. The controller and receiver lose connection fairly quickly when the system is powered off, then they have to be reconnected by holding down the buttons on the key and the controller. This isn't such a big deal on PC, where you can quickly switch between games and emulators without shutting down the system, but on a console you usually have to do this. I've found that on the Atari 2600 if you change cartridges quickly (within about 10 seconds) it will usually automatically re-pair. With the Atari 7800, however, this didn't always work and I had to struggle with the pairing buttons again. Even with PC emulators you have to go into the settings and adjust some of them manually (for example in Stella you have to set the inputs to move up or down manually). Anyway I expected something better for 35โฌ. In comparison, while not compatible with Genesis, Blue Lake PS2 wireless controllers are half the price, work great with PC, and always connect automatically.
