I purchased this item many years ago primarily for body hair. In this regard, he did an excellent job and lasted almost three years. About a year ago I was getting lazy and didn't want to bother using a razor and shaving cream on my face so I tried this little guy. without a guard. While there's no such thing as a clean, razor-like shave, I do enjoy the look of permanent stubble that I can use every few days or so. The battery seems to last a couple of months, which isn't a problem for a single AA in a shaver that gets this much use. I highly recommend this to people who want something that can handle almost all hair, yet is thin enough to contour the neck and jawline.
