Review on Fidanza 161691 Aluminum Approved Flywheel by Neil Biondo

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good idea, bad execution and no guarantee

Want lightweight? This is the flywheel for you. Want durability and something that looks like a guarantee? look elsewhere Fidanza presses the ring gear against the flywheel and then adds a security feature to hold the ring gear onto the flywheel with at least three bolts and washers. Note that bolts and washers do NOT hold the sprocket in place. from spinning on the flywheel - just to keep it from completely disengaging when it decides to spin. Steel 1050 and Aluminum 6061. Coming to terms with the fact that they expand and contract at different times is not serious science. Prices. If (or possibly if) the ring gear on the flywheel comes loose and starts spinning (it sounds like the engine is rattling), don't worry about it. and therefore has absolutely no warranty (I was offered to replace the gear for a fee they "couldn't name" - yes, because the steel was machined with aluminum, not the other way around). So, just like my last customer, he has a light, nice 6,000 mile paperweight with a replaceable friction pad.

Pros
  • Package weight: 4.128 kg
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
