Perfect for my needs

This stool is perfect for my needs. I've seen others with drawers that are significantly more expensive so I went with this one even though I don't like the pattern. It's too busy for my liking and for the place I wanted to use it, but I knew I'd cover it so it didn't matter. I also had trouble with the instructions and almost wanted to return it until I realized the two middle vertical inserts went in opposite directions which made it crooked. If you look closely, you'll notice that the slot for connecting is not quite in the middle. Just make sure they both point in the same direction and you shouldn't have any problems. After fixing it I found the boxes work fine. Just make sure the shorter side is up so you can pull out the drawers without lifting the lid. I've read reviews of people saying you have to lift the lid to slide out the top drawers and until I assembled it myself I didn't really understand what they meant. You definitely don't need to lift the lid to take out the drawers. One thing that could be improved is markings on the inserts that show "which end is up" so to speak. This eliminates the need for dismantling and remanufacturing. It was very difficult for me to disassemble them and I almost gave up. The instructions were clearly missing. In the end I'm so glad I got to do it because it's perfect for what I wanted it for. I wanted an ottoman in front of my sofa that I could not only put my feet on but also store things on. I think you can do this with most ottomans, but I love that it has drawers so things can be separated. I use it to store my books, notepads, pens, knitting supplies, etc. I can keep everything I need within easy reach in one of the drawers. So if I want to crochet or write a grocery list or something while watching TV, I can just pick things out and then easily move them out of sight when not in use and I don't have to search a large open area for what I'm looking for . I used to just leave things on the couch because I just didn't have a comfortable place to put them. I really love it and can't wait to do the cover. I was also concerned that it wouldn't be strong enough to sit on because of the drawers, but it seems very sturdy. I am very happy with this purchase. It occurred to me that since it has drawers, some people might be wondering how I plan to cover this. I will only cover the top and will probably make a ruffle that goes from top to bottom and can be easily lifted to access the drawers. Right now I have a piece of fabric covering the top and I even put the drawers in upside down because I really don't like the checkerboard look. Drawers still slide in and out easily. They might have some solid colors somewhere, but when I ordered this, checkerboard was the only choice. If they were solid color I would definitely go for one, but I would cover it anyway because I want it to match my sofa cushions.
