Review on ViewSonic VX2776-4K-MHD: Frameless 4K Monitor with DisplayPort, Blue Light Filter, Built-In Speakers & Anti-Glare Coating by Todd Welch

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Sometimes won't turn on after turning off with dual monitors on my Mac mini

I bought it as a second monitor for gaming on my 2018 Mac mini.

Colors and resolution are satisfactory; Can't comment on its responsiveness as the games I play also have a second monitor (24" Apple LED Cinema Display) plugged in as opposed to first person shooters etc. Normally this would be a show stop but I have one Found a reliable workaround: if I temporarily disable the Cinema Display (so that only the ViewSonic monitor is recognized) when I turn on the Mac mini, ViewSonic works fine and reliably, and then I can reconnect the Apple Cinema Display This behavior seems to be independent of how the monitors connect to the mini, I've tried various combinations including direct HDMI, display port to USB-C, etc.

Pros
  • CPU monitor
Cons
  • Bad speakers
