Review on Vic Firth DB22 Headphones Protection by Aaron Lewis

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I've never liked wearing earplugs because I can't hear what I hear.

I teach drums as part of my private lessons. I've never liked using earplugs because I don't hear what I need to hear to study. There's a price to pay for that, so for at least a week after training at camp I always had a ringing and boxing effect in my ear. I bought the VF headphones last week and tried them out at my band's gig and am very happy with them. I can't use them as I teach students, but when they join the group indoors for a full ensemble and the decibels are above the pain threshold, these kids do the trick. Today I was standing right in front of an overzealous tuba player and a happy snareline was playing next to the headband and I could only feel the music in my body and barely hear the real music (and that's a good thing!), so the moral of The Story Is That Learning the snare line with practice pads when playing indoors, and then putting on your VF headphones when the going gets tough. BTW, my wife tried them and she can start using them to isolate herself from the soothing sounds of my nighttime snoring. So far so good in terms of workmanship and durability.
