cool beads but the letters VONI

Beads - both beads and letters - are amazing. Great quality and I love that they come in organizers so I don't have to buy my own. However, letter beads smell TERRIBLE. Holy cow, they smell awful. It's some kind of chemical smell that will fill the whole huge room. I left the box open overnight in a high-ceilinged room in our house, hoping to air it out. In the morning the whole room smelled of this chemical. I also left the box open in the sun for three days in a row and the smell just faded a little. So do I soak them in hot soapy water or something? Excellent pearls, but this smell is unbearable and terrible.
