If you are unsure whether to buy this or a new one, I would risk buying a refurbished one. Mine looks almost new, except for a few minor blemishes that are only noticeable on close inspection. I'm a music lover and I know I'm late listening to these speakers but I have to say for the money and size these are good speakers. Although they are not ideal. They're not what I would describe as very accurate, with a few spikes audible there in the upper mids and highs, as well as a slight lack of mids. But even with these shortcomings, the speakers still generally produce good sound. The female vocals are great, the soundstage is spacious, and while I'd recommend a subwoofer with them if you're looking for a compact setup, they're fine on their own. I think they're worth the $60 paid, but $90 for a new pair puts it closer to some competition that I think should also be considered. TLDR - buy them instead of new ones. Good sound for its size. Use a subwoofer for full sound. Not quite, but still funny. Ideal for a table, bedroom or TV.
