Good but not perfect

In general I am satisfied with this tree. I've only been using it for a day so not sure about durability but so far so good. I usually buy scratching posts from Chewy but my older cat has started eating sisal rope so I really wanted a tree with minimal component scratching the strings. I agree, but I'm not sure what the point of sisal rope is. That is a tree. The two sections of sisal thread (the part intended for cat scratches) are in very awkward places. My cats have not used sisal rope at all because they cannot access it. This is a big plus for me because I want to avoid that part, but I'm sure it will be a big disadvantage for most other people. I don't understand the hammock part either. My 8 lb cat can sit in it and for the most part it holds up if she doesn't move too much, but my 12 lb cat doesn't hold it up. It's super thin. Seems to be a major design flaw. Finally, one of the top protrusions had a hole in the fabric. There was too much padding and the stitching was unraveling. Since my cats like to eat things they shouldn't, this can be a big problem for me. I took some padding and sort of folded it up so I think it might be good but it was disappointing. There are so few cat trees without sisal so I'm glad I found this one. I just wish it was done a little bit better.
