The black spacers on either side should fit into the notches. the middle metal part could detach from the outer frame and prevent attachment. After installing, aligning, and reassembling correctly, you may find that it suddenly snaps back into place. After alignment, you can now tighten the screw. The screw may come loose later, so repeat this process if simple tightening doesn't work. This metal part, seals or other component is misaligned and needs to be realigned in order for it to engage. simply tightening will not help align and fix it. Also, I noticed some wear on the notched aluminum profile, which can eventually wear out due to the constant rotation. When this happens, it might be time for a new scraper or a creative fix to fix the problem.
