This new WXI3077 replaces the six year old WXI477, an older version of the same phone. The old phone we had in the shed didn't work (it left the phone line "unpressed" even when the phone was turned off or left in the phone base). The first impression of the new model is very positive. The phone is still durable, water and dust resistant and the display is brighter. The quality of incoming/outgoing communication is good. The ringer set to maximum volume isn't as loud as the old WXI477, so I'm still not sure if that's going to be an issue or not. The only real shortcoming that I found with the new model: the charging station has no holder. Holes on the back so it can be wall hung with a standard wall/kitchen phone jack like the old WXI477. I need to find another way to mount the base to the wall or move the phone jack to allow the phone base to stand on a shelf or furniture.
