I'm wearing all 10 wide Merrell shoes, 11 wide lightweight Oakley assault boots and 10.5 wide Nike shoes for size comparison. I ordered a 10.5 width for the garmonts and they fit really well, they taper a little more and end up longer than needed but nothing uncomfortable. In terms of durability and comfort, they're great for work and amazing for long hikes. I took it for a day hike in the Cascades to break it in (not recommended) and the only issue I had was a bit of stiffness from being so new, but it broke down pretty well after a while. During the hike he rubbed his heel a bit, so put on good socks. The grip was great, I didn't slip or lose control at all and it's quite light, lighter than I would expect from some leather. My feet stay dry even when I wear them for a walk or all day at work. I didn't feel any friction through the lace holes.
