Review on 🌬️ MSI Core Frozr XL Cooling by Jason Sisawang

First I'll tell you a story about AM4. Shortly after the release of the Ryzen 5 series, I wanted to build a Ryzen rig. I had trouble finding AM4 compatible CPU coolers but I found 2 of them: MasterLiquid Lite 120 and MSI Core Frozr L. I also found something from Australia that looked like it would be easier to install but it was damn difficult. much more expensive then. I used MasterLiquid Lite 120 but when I started to install there were no instructions for AM4 and it wouldn't install! So I sent it back and received an MSI Core Frozr L with the necessary instructions and parts to install it on an AM4 motherboard. phew The Frozr L is easy to install but has some potentially confusing details. You have a lot of leeway in positioning this cooler so it looks good from any angle thanks to its adjustable bezel. The fan can have a second fan on the opposite side to force air through the heatsink. Note I didn't like attaching the fan to the heatsink as it requires fan hooks. Those tiny wires always stress me out. However, the installation wasn't a problem and I had it done fairly quickly. The performance is actually pretty impressive. It's almost silent, gets a bit noisy at times when I'm pushing the CPU's limits (video rendering, video recording, downloading from Steam, streaming to Twitch, music, gaming, 80+ Firefox tabs, etc. pretty much everything at once). , but as soon as the temperature drops, it decreases again. Even when it's loud, it's hardly noticeable. I really have to listen to it to notice the change. That's partly due to the padding of the case, mind you. The temperature of my Ryzen 1600X stays at an acceptably low level and is consistently low when idling. I don't have any real proof that this is possible with a CPU cooler, but it seems to do the job well. it doesn't really support AM4 out of the box. It also works surprisingly well for an air cooler.
