I have a room in the house that I have ceiling mounted speakers in just to occasionally watch TV and listen to music. This is the main entrance to the house, so I don't want it cluttered with speakers. This sub was a little larger than I thought it would be, but is still tucked away in a corner on a hardwood floor, not sticking out like a sore thumb. This sub does a great job of just adding a little extra punch to that sound. This isn't the subwoofer you want in your theater/listening room, save it for the larger 12" subwoofer. This is a speaker that "blends into the environment" and does it well. It's not "audiophile", it's a little dirty, but it's not very expensive. My real downsides are mainly that I wish it had an input that didn't require you to set LFE. there's a fine line between too much gain and too little gain, and the same goes for the LFE wheel. I'd rather let my AVR handle the crossover itself. Anyway, if you're looking for something to tuck into a corner that doesn't add much bass, this is a solid candidate.
