Review on πŸš— Newward Car Phone Mount: Ultimate 2-in-1 Long Arm Windshield & Dashboard Holder for iPhone, Galaxy, Huawei and More by Kobby Fairchild

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Ideal for better and safer placement

I was concerned that this device would be too bulky and cumbersome, but I liked the extra extension the arm offered. I've been using it for a couple of weeks now and I'm very happy with it. The mount is firm but flexible enough that I can mount it low on the windshield and allow the arm to follow the contour of the dash, allowing the phone to be lower, easy to see and less of an obstruction to my field of view. The fact that the phone is near the air conditioning vents also keeps it cool and doesn't overheat as much as my previous windshield mount. However, my placement in front of the ventilation nozzles of the air conditioning system creates unwanted "wind noise" when using "hands-free calling", but this can be avoided with Bluetooth. Two points prevented 5 stars. First, the hand simply rests on the dash pillar, making it easy to rotate left and right. So far this hasn't been a problem, but when I have to dodge to avoid an obstacle I don't know if it's going to be a dangerously swinging pendulum or something. Phone in or out of the holder. It seems very secure, but you have to push/pry the clip to open or close it. Kind of a two handed procedure as it requires pressure to open the clamp for insertion or removal and if you try to press down with one hand the clamp resists and the hand moves away from you. Other holders like my previous one. , have a spring-loaded clip/release so you can insert and remove with one hand. If this feature was added I would definitely give 5 stars.
