NEVER fit Chinese made timing belt kit parts to a Subaru. Not at all, damn it! However, that is included in this Gates kit. Parts from China. The only reason I can think of why Gates decided to stop using 100% Japanese made parts and that would be for profit. IMHO there can be no other reason. I returned the kit for a full refund. Here's the good news: for around $30, you can buy a true OEM kit from AISIN that's 100% made in Japan. Aisin TKF-001 timing belt kit with water pump. With that, there is absolutely no reason to take the risk of using this Chinese made timing belt kit on your Subaru. Do not do that!
