Review on 65" TV LG OLED65CXR 2020 HDR, OLED, black by Michal Wasowicz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I didn³'t expect the quality to be this good.

To be continued. if there is a non-working pixel, it will be turned off permanently in any image and in any color it will be visible. But when the subpixels are not working, they are not visible, so I consider this the norm and I am even glad that there are no dead pixels. LG considers up to 8 dead pixels (I have 0) and up to 16 broken subpixels (I have 3) to be the norm in their panels. Exceeding this amount is a defect and must be replaced panel. At the warehouse, at the pick-up point, they checked in front of me that the panel was intact and turned on and working. I checked the rest at home, I think the banding in the photo is 5% at a good minimum level, compared to what I saw from the owners, in any matrix these bands will be visible in different ways, worse than spots. Well, white is dirty, I knew what to do. All these are features of OLED technology, I knew what I was buying, I don’t worry about burnout, there is self-cleaning. The bandwidth of the HDMI 2.1 port on the TV is limited to 40 Gb / s, while the previous C9 model had a full 48 Gb / s. BUT! If the new generation XBOX consoles have a bandwidth of 40 Gb / s, and the PlayStation 5 has 32 Gb / s, is it worth worrying about it ? ! AAA quality games will never in this generation run in native 4K 120fps with maximum graphics, due to the weak hardware of the consoles. As a result, HDMI 2.1 will work at 2/3 of its capabilities with consoles. Now Comment: Despite all the shortcomings, after checking and installing the TV, the very next day you turn it on with great pleasure, forgetting about everything, and immerse yourself in the world of high-quality UltraHD content, which is already enough on the Internet. It was this and the emergence of new consoles that prompted me to purchase this TV. Old 2022. LG LED46 FullHD went to the nursery for a child to show cartoons. I really hope that it will work for at least 7-10 years without losing the original image quality and malfunctions, although the manufacturer hints at a shelf life of 5 years, hmm . It turns out 137500r / 5 years = 27500r per year? To watch TV, WTF? !

Pros
  • Image of the highest quality! 2160p resolution, viewing angles, brightness, contrast, black color! Convenient control with an aero-mouse. Convenient and fast webOS. Availability of all modern technologies with a margin for the future. Fully compatible with the next generation of consoles, and even enough for future Pro versions. Support for technologies from AMD, nVidia and other VRR whistleblowers that I will not notice. Bought mainly for XBOX series X and watching movies in a 70/30 usage ratio Price! Yes, exactly the price, at the time of purchase in April 2022, relative to the time when I salivated on the first OLED TVs 5 years ago, I was waiting for them to become available and time-tested. And once again the price is relatively new model C1 which costs 200k in large networks, but what has changed? A breakthrough and a leap in revolutionary technologies did not happen in order to pay more. Design, 5mm thin bezels. thin panel body of only 4mm looks spectacular! Just think about this phrase: A TV that is thinner than any smartphone! A body with brains does not count . Diagonal 65 is the most adequate size for this money, buy 55 saving a couple of tens of thousands and you will regret that you didn’t buy 65, but 77 diagonal, the price is already unreasonably high and this is no longer an apartment size.
Cons
  • The sound is flat! If you describe it, then as if the ears were blocked in the subway, there is no depth, the stereo is not felt. the sound comes from two tiny speakers between which the distance is half a meter and they are directed downward, SORRY, but I listen to the sound not with my feet, but with my ears on my head. I look at a distance of 3.5 meters and in what form and quality the sound will reach me, you understand . But you need to understand and you should not expect and demand "for the money" in such a thin case of good sound. No matter how many speakers and subwoofers will be built into the TV, the sound will go in different directions, up, down, behind the TV, but not to the listener! Vobschem sound for show, for non-demanding people will come down. And I always use external acoustics for TV, in my case it's Edifier R2800, it's a completely different level of impressions and immersion, the comparison was with these speakers. The horizontal arrangement of the connectors on the back is inconvenient for connecting peripherals when wall-mounting the TV. I consciously hung it on the thinnest bracket 12mm from the wall to the TV, and I had to buy a new optical audio cable with a short base, so that it would not fit into the wall and not bent, I was ready for this. For all other ports, angled plugs will be needed (a niche in the case does not save). In my old LG LED TV from 2022, which is also thin, all the ports are directed to the side and down, which prevented me from placing it the same way? Does not support audio codecs in video files! To understand why I gave 137500r, I decided to watch a movie "for all pixels" downloaded Avatar. Mkv UHD 107Gb and immediately got a problem, no sound! Yes, piracy is not good, but I have been doing it all my life in terms of cinema and music. I had to look for a solution to the problem, as a result I looked at Avatar on XBOX SX through the VLC player Broken subpixels! In my sample I found 2 green and 1 blue! Not to be confused with RGBW whole pixel. Let me explain that all the pixels are working, it’s just that in one subpixel, for example, green, which is responsible for the entire spectrum of green shades, does not work. Further.
