I am 5'6" and 165 pounds. I ordered the large and it fits me perfectly. There was plenty of room for inner layers like my thermal shirt. Although I take back the star because the jacket was too long and almost touched my knees. Overall this is a great winter jacket for those who live at high altitudes. After about thirty minutes of shoveling snow in the driveway, I had to remove my inner fleece because I was sweating under my armpits and around my chest. Still, the jacket made me even hotter, and I took it off as well. I was so hot that I didn't mind shoveling shirtless in the fresh air as the snow showers rained down on me. After that I was still so warm that I had to lie down in the snow until the cold burned my back and my body temperature returned to normal! I don't know about you, but for a small, petite, slim body like me, this jacket is fine if you want something that can withstand cold temperatures.
