Review update: I bought a Waterpik and it was thrown in the bin. It drew enough current that after 3 uses the batteries were too weak to function properly. Even then it didn't work so well. I was glad to be able to use the water jet again. I used the WaterPik device a few years ago and wanted to get that fresh feeling that I remember after using it. Upon arrival my first impression was that this device is smaller than I imagined but still a handy size. Requires three AA batteries which are not included. I plugged it in with fresh batteries, filled it with water, let it flush for a bit and tried it out. When comparing it to my WaterPik storage, I was immediately disappointed with the lack of pressure. I'm just guessing, but it appears to have had half (or less) the powerful pressure generated during my previous experience with its wall-fed WaterPik cousin. I decided to wait a week. I was the only user in my house, and after about six uses, the batteries were so drained that the already weak power was virtually useless. I'll probably put this one under a closet and buy a wall powered unit with just the annual savings I get from not buying batteries every week.
