My dog took it very well, but during a temporary illness his food was changed. I will return to this brand once his recovery is complete in about three months. Update: I will buy this product again. My dog has recovered from his illness and while he still gets a small amount of this kibble (I still have over half a 20lb sack) due to its nutritional value, the vet suggested a mostly raw, mostly plant-based diet and a little diet amount of raw meat or canned sardines along with turmeric as an anti-inflammatory. Soon we will go to an animal shelter (unfortunately a murder shelter) to rescue another dog. I think this is an excellent kibble to gradually introduce to an anxious rescue animal, puppy or adult.
