When my laptop was charged with this cable, the mouse didn't work at first. Now when it's plugged in, the volume randomly and suddenly gets high and there's no way to adjust it (buttons don't work). I bought it because my computer is on its last legs and I didn't want to shell out money for the Apple brand. But if you're going to be using your laptop for more than a few months, go with Apple. I also turn it off when I leave the house because it gets very hot and I'm afraid it might start a fire.
