I have just received my Lamicall tablet pillow and I am very satisfied! I've seen other brands and they seem to be softer foam and they tend to arrive bruised and misshapen and don't always spring back to full shape once opened. This is a firmer foam and is perfect with no awkward corners due to poor materials or careless shipping packaging. It has enough structural integrity that I can comfortably place it on top of books to get the right height when I need to make a Zoom call. Many other brands feel soft and don't seem stiff, and I worry that without this support, this bulkier, heavier tablet could literally just slide off. 2) The slightly velvety suede cover is snug and fits well. , without the awkward seams or inappropriate nature of the cheaper options. There is a concealed zip at the bottom so the cover can be removed for spot cleaning. The texture of the fabric combined with the iPad sleeve keeps the tablet from slipping, which bothered me. 3) The small bottom lip/tray is wider and ribbed so I can easily prop up my iPad 12.9 with its huge Otterbox Defender. Fall on it with no problems. Taking a closer look at other tablet pillows, it seems that they just don't support such a wide tablet, either because of the excessive width or the added weight. There are two separate heavy-duty tabs that offer two different viewing angles. There are no obstacles to see the screen or touch the screen. (Some other brands have thick straps that hold the tablet in place.) 4) Some might like the snug fitting clear zippered vinyl sleeve it's packaged in. Dust protection during or between uses, or as protection for people who like to snack while browsing or reading and leave chocolatey or greasy little fingerprints. 5) I put the tablet holder directly on my chest because I'm blind as a bat and can't see the screen well with glasses. The cushion at its edge is about 1.5 inches high in the ridges and 2 inches at the highest point of the small ridges. The shelf is about 2 inches deep. I added a small throw pillow underneath to elevate it even higher and now it's at eye level and I'm so, very happy with it. I spend so much time on the device that my neck hurts looking down and this will go a long way in alleviating that. 6) No unusual odor detected. Sometimes the food smells funny and the gases are released for a long time, and people get nervous. It's fairly neutral, just the standard smell of new materials. I think this is really the best choice for this kind of pillow. This item was purchased independently and I did not receive any attention to my review.
