Needed for some old Sony stereo speakers, flea market, Stereo is long dead. The speaker cables had no connectors on the ends, the stereo only had spring loaded connectors (anyone know what they're actually called?) I am not sure if there is such a thing these days but i guess they don't have t. Since there were no connectors I just used bare wires to connect to the internal banana plugs. Man these things howl! Those vintage Sony speakers from the early 80's sound great! I think I paid maybe $5 for the whole stereo when it actually worked in the mid 90's, now I just use my iPhone for the bluetooth connection. Probably doesn't sound as good as it did when new, but enough power to blow some Metallica when I'm working in the basement.
