Review on Samsung Chromebook Celeron Processor Gigabit by Greg Simms

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good product! - Computers and tablets

I was absolutely thrilled when I received this product. I originally bought this to replace my Lenovo laptop which broke accidentally. I'm a student so I needed a product that could handle file uploads and be lightweight so it would be easier to carry around campus. It arrived a day early and was much smaller than expected, which makes me very happy. It's very light and everything seems to work fine. I'll let you know if anything happens. ***UPDATE*** Okay, so I gave this Chromebook 5/5 stars first. However, after a few weeks of use, I've discovered some Chromebook features that bother me as I'm a creature of habit. First, there is NO delete button. At first I don't think it would be a deal breaker, but it's a little annoying. Secondly, I can no longer press "Tab" to indent every time I want to write an email. In fact, it seems that I can't do it in any field where I can add text, for example in the field for this rating. Third, you CANNOT right-click without pressing the "alt" tab. Last but not the least, there is no way to add apps to the background of this device. Shortcuts are the only way to make applications accessible. While I understand that this isn't strictly a laptop and that features are guaranteed to vary, all four issues combined have bothered me enough to write this review. Don't get me wrong, this laptop is great for school. The webcam is great, I don't have any connection problems, but these strange features are very annoying. If I knew Chromebooks were designed that way, it would ease my frustration or I would consider buying something else.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Slightly torn
