Review on Shelf Liner Wire Shelving Locking Storage & Organization by Brent Peterson

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Not suitable for lengths over 4ft

We purchased this for use in our new home as all the cabinets come with wire shelving. When my wife and I started installing it, the first 3 feet or so allowed the tabs to slide through the shelves to lock it in place. After that, the tabs couldn't push them down. We tried "stretching" and smoothing out the material, but after about 4 feet we couldn't install the extra locking tabs - they just didn't fit together. Most of the shelves we have are over 4 feet long. We decided to use as much as possible on one side so we can place bottles and aerosols on it and then just cut the material. If you want to level the entire shelf, this won't work (we have Closetmaid shelves). Luckily I only bought one roll of 12 inch wide liner to try. I'll be using it piecemeal so I have at least some room to line up items that are more likely to tip over, but I was expecting to be able to use it full length! I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless they have very short sections that they need fodder for. If you are considering this, consider buying just one roll to see if it will work on your shelf before investing in multiple rolls! Also note that the plastic wrap is not entirely smooth and between the clasps has "waves". This can flatten out over time, but at least initially when you only have a few containers of liquid you may need to place additional items on top of the liner to keep it flat so things don't tip over.
