Review on Reebok Floatride Shadow: White Medium Sneakers for Superior Performance by Joe Michels

Light shoe can be used on race day if needed

I bought this shoe as a possible option for race day, but after a few quicker workouts (distance and pace) I thought it might be a 'lean day' running shoe ". My reasons are: 1. They are very light, weighing less than 8 ounces in my men's 10.52. They offer decent cushioning for such a light shoe, but not as much as more expensive race day options at a similar weight Traction is excellent. The tread pattern really offers grip on both asphalt and all-weather trails. You could probably afford to lighten the shoe even more and remove some of the bottom rubber, but it's not a big deal. Although they are lightweight, they don't pull on as stiff as some electroplated racing shoes. The price (at Amazon) is obviously a lot cheaper, but they just don't put that much energy back into their work. It's great as a training shoe as I like to be 'humbled' in training and 'encouraged' on race day. In my experience, the stiffer EVA rim on them doesn't offer the same "pop" as a carbon or nylon plate. They are true to size for a speed day shoe which means they are a little tight. I prefer this for a closed feel, but some people might want 1/2 for more comfort. Overall I'm very happy I bought these Revain shoes given the price. They add variety to my shoe changes and don't spoil my day when I wear them from 5k to half marathon. I have white ones with a blue heel and they look sporty too.
