Not the same. Doesn't work properly on Note 5 or Note 8. The spring mechanism is pressure insensitive, switching on and off when there is no pressure and shutting off full pressure. This pen can handle screen touches and nothing else. Doesn't feel like a pen when writing. No replaceable pen tip and both broke in half within the first month. Samsung did NOT make them.
