Not compatible with office electronics

So I bought black toner. Put it in the printer and it blew up the printer! Printer error: not compatible. AWAY. Then my color toners, which were previously fine, started reading: incompatible. No reset will get my printer working again. I sent the cartridge back and bought a new printer.
