Review on ๐Ÿ”ฆ Ford Driver Side Headlight Assembly - TYC 20-1571-00 by James Duffield

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A day in the life of a shade tree mechanic.

Let me try again, I bought 1571 and 1570 left and right for my '88 Ford F250. They arrived a day earlier than expected, a good start. These are the lenses shown in the picture and include a new headlight and a 'ding' that will hold the bulb securely in place after you connect your car's headlight socket. 4 nuts and 1 screw to remove the old lens. The existing turn signal light and socket from your vehicle will continue to be used. I strongly recommend that you reseat both before attempting to install a new lens. Getting to those nuts and bolts is a little trickier. On my F250 I had to remove the plastic cover that protects the tops of the radiator and grille, I used pliers to pry the small knobs out while holding the insert with my finger. Same goes for the grille BUT there is also a "latch" on the underside of the grille which I pushed off with a flathead screwdriver which releases the grille. Now you can continue working on the old lens. I was tempted to only give this product 4 stars because it started raining while I was working on the truck AND because I kicked the bin with all the knobs, sockets, nuts and bolts and spilled them all over the gravel driveway. But I didn't. *****;around) .

Pros
  • High test scores for grip and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
