I had to replace two of my BPHS1 so decided to give them a try. Considering the price difference, the sound quality isn't much better than the BPHS1 or something like that, but the build quality (of the headset, at least) is fantastic. The form factor is great too, they are more comfortable to wear and easier to pack than the BPSH1. Mic redirection is up instead of down like the BPHS1, and feels smoother and more intuitive. The standard earcups needed some tweaking as the pods are much smaller than those on the BPHS1 but are much more comfortable than the standard BPHS1 earcups. As for the audio, I'm not really an audio engineer, I use them as commentators. during live broadcasts of competitive gaming events. The highs sounded a bit harsher than the BPHS1 and needed some EQing down, but the overall sound was fuller and brighter and the voicing sounded very clear. I think the sound is great; not much better than the BPHS1 to justify the price difference if you're strictly concerned with clean commentary audio, but I think the combination of sound and overall design and improvements in build quality justify the cost difference. The detachable cable is great for packing and transporting the headset. except that the cable died almost immediately on one of the two BPHS2s I ordered. I tested both headsets to see what EQ differences might be needed compared to the BPHS1, everything worked great; I have stripped the cables, packaged them exactly as they came and boxed the headphones prior to the first production I used them in. When first used, one of the two cables only worked with the headphones, not the microphone. It was definitely a cable; Swapping a different cable between the two headsets both worked fine with it. I deduct a star for that. I'm sure AT customer support will fix and replace this when I have time to contact them about it and overall the headsets are great it's just really annoying to use a $350 product less than once be able. Now, in the perpetual paranoia that they'll ruin the bed just when I need them for a show that's far from optimal, I have to shell out an extra $70 for replacement cords, but I'll chalk it up to failure, not them Norm considering how good the build quality is on the rest of the headsets. - Convenient to carry - Detachable cable is convenient Cons: - Significantly higher price than previous model - Detachable cable may or may not break immediately.
