Review on Enhance Your Safety with Carhartt Carbondale Sandstone Safety Sunglasses by Redfish Rosenhoover

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent outdoor safety features at a reasonable price.

I used to have STIHL goggles in dark amber. After 10 years the headphones finally broke and I was looking for a replacement. I mainly use these sunglasses for gardening like mowing and trimming, but I also wear them when driving. Carhart Carbondale Goggles are even better than their predecessors. I love the shade which is perfect for use outdoors in bright sunlight but still light enough to put on your glasses when clouds are blocking the sun or when heading to a shady spot. The goggles offer an excellent field of vision and have no noticeable distortion. I particularly like the built-in seal that keeps dust out of my eyes. Anyone who has mowed the lawn on a dry, windy day knows that turning the mower sideways into the wind throws dust and particulate matter right in your face. These goggles prevent dust from getting behind the lenses. Surprisingly they don't fog up at all, although I tend to sweat a lot on my face when working outdoors. I have problems with fogging with most sunglasses or goggles, but not with these Carhart Carbondale goggles. I once made the mistake of throwing them in my backpack where they slid all the way down and were subjected to some abrasive particles and vibration. when hiking with a backpack. As soon as I pulled them out of the bottom of the backpack, I noticed some small scratches on the lenses. Totally my fault and the scratches are really minimal. I recommend using a hard case to store them when not in use. Overall the safety performance has become my new favorite and a worthy replacement for the STIHL (the model I owned is no longer sold btw) 1 year update: glasses still work (pic attached after 1 year of use) No new scratches through the backpack incident mentioned above. My favorite sunglasses so far. A point worth noting is that they are easy to clean. Most of the time you just wipe them off with a dry paper towel. If they get too dirty, I use isopropyl alcohol and a paper towel. You still look as good as you did a year ago. I thought nose pads were the first thing I break or lose. They're still here and just as soft and comfortable as they were when they were brand new. I love these sunglasses.

Pros
