Review on πŸ”’ Enhanced Safety with TOPELE Tamper Resistant Receptacle Indicator Wallplate by Mark Greenwood

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Poor quality, pay attention to the orientation of the grounding plug

Made in China literally, all cheap and poor quality. Don't use the rear wire clamps, they are loose and uncomfortable and if you tighten them they will cut your wires. The side screws are ok, but they are difficult to use due to the loose metal object surrounding them. Self-tapping screws break easily. If you have a roomy box and never need to rewire, this will do. In real life, when drawers are tight and you may need to adjust/replace the device, that crappy outlet will bring you a lot of stress and frustration. I found this out after installation when I noticed the ground plugs were on top, which is unusual for a GFCI, and didn't work with the wires I had connected to them. It was horrible to realign. It is strongly recommended to buy a higher quality one. If you get stuck with that, be careful of the orientation, only use the side screws, and plan to only plug it in once as the screws will break.

Pros
  • πŸ‘ Tamper Evident Sockets: The TR feature is a protective locking system that prevents foreign objects from entering socket openings. The safety flaps only open when the two-leaf fork is pressed against two flaps at the same time, which is safe for children.
Cons
  • Very expensive
