It is as advertised, but in comparison to my other exercise mat (the cats picked at it and put divots in it which is the reason I was looking for another one) this one is more dense, but not as thick nor cushy. One thing that it does lack, is a something to keep it closed when not in use, like a tie or carrier which my other mat came with. If I had to choose between the two, I liked my other mat better, but this one is okay.
