I hate buying these but in the end they are worth it. Needles don't last long IF the glue at the tip dries a little (the needle will bend when resisting the glue drying a little at the tip, which can happen easily and quicker than you think), then if you use a regular sewing pin to replace them, the pin rusts and then the rust gets into the glue, then you have a rust colored glue on your paper which is really not good if a bit of it shows through on the front of your project. We don't need to spend a dollar on a pin, but I haven't been able to find another bottle of fine-tipped glue that holds and works as well as the Art Institute bottle.
